We are happy to announce to you that Giovanni Arpaia and Ilona Akulova have joined our team of international recognized WSET teachers. Ilona Akulova – WSET Instructor

Initially from Ukraine, she found her passion for wine in Portugal. “I fell in love with Portuguese culture, traditions and the vast heritage of wine production”.

Her expertise lies in conducting wine tastings, organizing wine events, and providing comprehensive knowledge about wines and wine regions. Ilona is recognized for her ability to communicate complex wine concepts in a straightforward manner, making the experience enjoyable for both beginners and experts. Her aim is to empower individuals to have confidence in their wine choices and enhance their overall wine appreciation. Find out more about Ilona here.

Giovanni Arpaia – WSET Instructor

From childhood, food and wine has been present in Giovanni’s life: “I grew up in a family where wine (and food!) held a significant place, often becoming the subject of our conversations. As a naturally curious person with a wide range of interests, I was captivated by the multifaceted nature of wine.”

At the school, Arpaia shares his extensive knowledge of winemaking techniques, particularly focusing on organic and biodynamic viticulture. Through hands-on experience, students can learn about soil management, grape cultivation, vineyard practices, and sustainable farming methods, all under Arpaia’s expert guidance.
